Mar 21, 2016 · I had read that golf balls make good targets for 22 lr shooting. Well today I screwed some sheet rock screws into some cheap golf balls I got at walmart and hung them from my target stand at 100 yds, Shot them with 223 and 243, they hold up very well.

I would trust this gun to take deer sized quarry at 150 yards or less with a round ball at any time, with it's non adjustable open sights. ( 3 carefully hand filed notches for 50, 100, and 150 yards) It's one in sixty-six twist stabilizes a round ball beautifully.

I have been using grease wads since the late 1960s and have found that putting a dry card between that and the ball keeps the wad from sticking to the ball. The prime reason for using the wads is to not collect dirt or make a mess in my holster.
