Texas A&M (12-2) defeated rival Texas 80-60 on Saturday night, as the Aggies look like one of the best teams in the country despite being among a stacked SEC in one of the odder years in the conference.

Texas A&M guard Zhuric Phelps finished with a game-high 18 points while Wade Taylor IV added 13 points. The Longhorns got a team-high 14 points from guard Tramon Mark while freshman star Tre Johnson was held to 11 points on 2 of 13 shooting.

A&M earned the win in the teams' first matchup since 2019. It's the Aggies' second win in the last five games against Texas. The Aggies' next matchup is their first SEC road test, Wednesday against Oklahoma.
