In his first season with the Ohio State Buckeyes, Jeremiah Smith has taken the college football world by storm. The freshman put up eye-popping numbers for the Buckeyes this season. He led the Big Ten with 14 receiving touchdowns and also amassed 1,226 receiving yards this season. Both of those marks are freshman records.

Arguably, the best freshman to ever play is Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. He concluded his freshman season with impressive statistics: 76 catches, 1,315 receiving yards, and 15 touchdowns. These figures rank No. 5 in receptions, No. 4 in receiving yards and No. 2 in touchdowns for a single season in Ohio State history.

Someone had to make a play, and on this Ohio State team who else would you expect to be called upon in a moment like this but freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith.  He had not seen the ball the entire second half,

With the game on the line and Ohio State needing a first down on 3rd and 11 to ice the victory, Smith came up big, hauling in a 56-yard pass to seal it. Smith had five catches for 88 yards and a touchdown in the game, clinching the record for most receiving yards by a true freshman in the Big Ten in a single season.

The Ohio State Buckeyes won the College Football National Championship thanks, in part, to freshman wide Receiver Jeremiah Smith. The 2023 Nat Moore Trophy winner came up big for the Buckeyes in their win over Notre Dame in the national title game.
