Final Fantasy and Square Enix are finally coming back to Xbox, with the long-awaited Pixel Remaster Collection outed early ahead of Microsoft's Tokyo Game Show presentation set for September 27, 2024.

Final Fantasy 16 sold 3 million copies on PS5 in its launch week, which, judging by its PC numbers, will be hard to replicate on Xbox.

Compare this to Final Fantasy 15, the Windows Edition of the game (that’s what Square Enix calls it) peaked at a much higher 29,498 concurrent players on Steam when it released in March, 2018. Under 30,000 isn’t itself an achievement, but it’s almost double that of Final Fantasy 16’s.
