If you haven’t heard the news lately (or live under a rock), the Toronto Blue Jays and star first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. couldn’t find common ground on an extension this past offseason.

"The number Vladimir Guerrero Jr. wants is $500 million," Rosenthal reported. "Not $500 million before deferrals, but $500 million in present value, according to sources briefed on the first baseman ’s contract negotiations with the Toronto Blue Jays."

According to Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Blue Jays' last offer to Guerrero before his deadline was around $500 million, but with deferred money included. That lowered the present-day value of the deal to between $400-$450 million.
