BELGRADE (Reuters) -Thousands of protesters gathered in front of the Serbian government building on Monday demanding arrests of those responsible for an accident at a railway station in the northern town of Novi Sad in which 14 people were killed.

Several thousand took to the streets in Belgrade, demanding resignations and arrests of top officials over the deaths of 14 at a railway station.

Thousands of Serbian opposition backers rallied on Tuesday in the northwestern city of Novi Sad in a violent protest over a deadly accident at a local railway station, for which they blame negligence and corruption by the government.

Several thousand people demonstrated on Monday evening in Belgrade to call for the resignation of Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic following a fatal train station roof collapse.
