The Brewers are looking to unearth another hidden gem -- with their latest reclamation project being 26-year-old Elvin Rodriguez.

The 2025 international signing period is slated to open on Wednesday, and a few teams will be flush with cash. The most any team has in its bonus pool entering the start of the cycle is $7.56 million.

The pitcher says the confidence the team showed in him by offering a multi-year contract was immensely impactful.

At one time, the Detroit Tigers had high hopes for Elvin Rodriguez. After failing to live up to the hype, Rodriguez left for Japan.

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers have signed right-handed pitcher Elvin Rodríguez to a one-year contract with a club option for 2026. To make room on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher JB Bukauskas was designated for assignment.

The 29-year-old hit .199 with a .301 on-base percentage, 12 homers, 43 RBIs and 13 stolen bases in 116 games and 346 plate appearances for Milwaukee last season.
