Kaapo Kakko scored twice in the third period, Joey Daccord made 33 saves and the Seattle Kraken overcame an early two-goal deficit to beat the Buffalo Sabres 6-2 on Saturday. Oliver Bjorkstrand gave Seattle the lead on a scramble in front of the net at 3:08 of the third.

It took another Herculean effort to avoid a five-game skid. Newest recruit Kaapo Kakko scored twice in a third-period goal flurry that carried the Kraken to another multi-goal comeback, 6-2 Saturday afternoon in Buffalo. They erased the Sabres’ 2-0, first-intermission lead and notched their league-best sixth multi-goal comeback this season.

According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, former Seattle Kraken defenseman Will Borgen requested a trade. Friedman had a lot to say about the quickly sinking Kraken team including Borgen requesting a trade before he was dealt to the New York Rangers in exchange for Kaapo Kakko.

Chandler Stephenson, Josh Mahura and Jared McCann each had two assists for the Kraken (18-22-3), who had lost four in a row (0-3-1). Joey Daccord made 33 saves in his first start since Dec. 22; he relieved Philipp Grubauer in a 6-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday, his first game after missing five with an upper-body injury.
