The trio of stars, each of whom spent part of their career in New York, will be inducted in Cooperstown on July 27.

Former Kansas City Royals outfielder Carlos Beltran fell just short in his bid to enter the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Beltran, 47, missed Hall of Fame enshrinement after receiving 277 votes on Tuesday.

The Baseball Hall of Fame has three new members. Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia and Billy Wanger were voted into the Hall of Fame on Tuesday. Outfielder Carlos Beltran and Andruw Jones fell just short of immortality.

The Hall of Fame doors will open to Ichiro Suzuki, to CC Sabathia, and to Billy Wagner, and that’s a solid trio.

The Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2025 has been decided. Outfielder Ichiro Suzuki, pitcher CC Sabathia, reliever Billy Wagner and outfielder Carlos Beltran have all been elected, each earning at least 75% of votes from eligible members of the Baseball Writers Association of America.

The Hall of Fame announced the results of this year’s Baseball Writers Association of America voting. Ichiro, CC Sabathia and Billy Wagner topped the 75% threshold for induction. They’ll join Dick Allen and Dave Parker in the 2025 class.

The trio will be inducted into the Hall at Cooperstown on July 27 along with Dave Parker and Dick Allen, voted in last month by the classic era committee.

Dustin Pedroia didn’t come close to being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame Tuesday, but his showing the first time on the ballot should be perceived as sizable achievement.

In the meantime, the Clown of the Year award goes to the writer who decided Suzuki wasn’t worthy of the Hall of Fame. My friends are all asking who could be that dumb. I think it’s more about spite than idiocy.
