MUMBAI: A Bangladeshi woman labourer, living illegally in India since 2016, deleted the banned IMO (In My Opinion) app after police recently began operations against illegal immigrants. Bandra police discovered this after apprehending Kulsum Shaikh alias Mohini (31) on Jan 15.

The police informed that the Bangladeshi national had entered India seven months ago and used a West Bengal resident’s Aadhaar card to procure a SIM before moving to Mumbai.
The Mumbai Police on Sunday morning confirmed that the person arrested for allegedly attacking actor Saif Ali Khan is an illegal immigrant from Bangladesh. The accused, identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, entered the residence of the renowned actor with the intent to commit theft.

Meanwhile, the police are yet to recover the part of the knife used to attack Saif Ali Khan. According to a report in The Times of India, the police said that the accused broke into Saif's home with the intention of robbery because of extreme poverty.
Police revealed that Saif Ali Khan's attacker, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, panicked after seeing his image on TV and planned to flee to Bangladesh, but was apprehended following the extensive investigation.
Based on his questioning, the Mumbai Police have traced the movement of Mohammed Shariful Islam alias Vijay Das (30), the Bangladeshi national arrested for the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan.
On the run for over two days, Mohammad Shariful, a suspect in the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case, was picked up from deep inside the mangrove forests in Thane in the wee hours of Sunday, said sources.
