On Tuesday night in Philadelphia, the Detroit Red Wings lost 2–1 in overtime to the host Flyers. After opening their four-game road spell with a convincing win over the defending champion Panthers, the Red Wings followed up with three straight losses, scoring just one goal in each game.

Joel Farabee’s goal at 5:21 of the second period was the only scoring through two periods. He fired in a backhand shot from the slot as the Red Wings were scrambling in their zone. The Flyers had the game’s only power play and didn’t convert.

Philadelphia — This four-game road trip that everyone felt was going to somehow define the Red Wings is finally over. What we learned about them is, there's still probably much to be learned, although Tuesday's 2-1 overtime loss in Philadelphia gave the Wings a less than .500 trip (1-2-1).
