ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Though the old adage is ‘never apologize for a win,’ first-year Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore wasn’t exactly in a celebratory mood after the Wolverines beat Minnesota, 27-24 — the same score that Michigan beat USC by the week before.

Similar to last week’s 27-24 win over USC, the 12th-ranked Wolverines overcame some shoddy stretches of play to come out on top. A 21-point lead in the fourth quarter nearly evaporated, but Michigan ran out the clock after the Golden Gophers (2-3, 0-2) pulled to within three with 1:37 remaining.
