After concerns from community, Mesa Public Schools won't cut music classes for 4th-6th graders
During a meeting Tuesday night, members of the Mesa Public Schools governing board chose not to cut general music classes for 4th, 5th & 6th graders. This comes as the district tries to cut $18 million out of next year’s budget due to a decline in enrollment.

The Mesa Public School Board voted 5-0 to allocate an additional $1.3 million from the Carry Forward Fund to avoid reducing specials, including general music for fourth through sixth-grade students.
