Gunfire may have rung out during a New Year’s party in Fort Worth overnight. Police got a 9-1-1 call about a shooting victim near 35-W and Risinger, so they showed up along with Fort Worth Fire and Medstar.

A man died at a Fort Worth shooting range Dec. 30 when his firearm malfunctioned, police said. Officers were dispatched to Shoot Smart at 10305 North Freeway around 8:50 p.m. They found a man with a gunshot wound to the head. He was treated by medical personnel but died at the scene, according to police.

Derrick Sanders Jr., 19, is charged with felony murder for the death of his uncle, 40-year-old Christopher Sanders Sr.
