Despite the outcry of the neighborhood over the past year, the Safeway grocery store on Webster Street in the Fillmore neighborhood was officially closing its doors on Friday.

Another Safeway in the Bay Area is preparing for an imminent closure, the grocery chain announced the same week its store in San Francisco’s Fillmore District shuttered for good.
