The embattled politician — who was indicted on corruption and bribery charges earlier this year but has pleaded not guilty and intends to run for reelection — chatted with the Hot Topics table about the implications of Donald Trump‘s second presidency for blue states like New York.

The investigations surrounding the Adams’ administration first became known in November 2023, when federal agents searched the home of Brianna Suggs, his chief fundraiser. The New York Times reported that the probe was tied to the mayor’s campaign connections with Turkey. The FBI also seized Adams’ phone and tablet.

In a letter sent to the federal judge, an attorney for Adams requested the trial begin April 1 rather than the current planned date of April 23.
