In a statement, Duke Energy said a majority of customers are expected to have power returned no later than Friday evening, Oct. 4. However, repair efforts are so widespread that very few areas have been assigned estimated times of restoration.

Duke Energy expects to restore most of those remaining outages by Friday night, though some of the hardest hit regions are still inaccessible.

More than 650,000 Duke Energy customers are still without power across the Carolinas following Hurricane Helene’s destruction. Well over 1.3 million customers were without power on Friday, Sept. 27, when the storm first reached the Carolinas.
