No tickets were sold matching all six numbers in Monday evening’s drawing of the multi-state Powerball lottery, pushing the estimated jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing to $303 million. One ticket was sold matching five numbers but not the Powerball in Virginia and is worth $1 million.

“I did it!” Brian Morgan excitedly told her. Morgan matched all five numbers in the Nov. 27 drawing to win a total of $1,610,754 from a Cash 5 with EZ Match game, the Virginia Lottery said in a Jan. 6 news release. “I’ve looked at it about 50 times!” the happy winner told lottery officials when claiming his prize.

The Virginia Lottery said a man from Ashburn and his aunt, who lives in Emporia, Va., will split $1 million after they won Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle. Miran Smith gave Geraldine Smith the lottery ticket as a gift.

Randall Smith was sitting in his car when he won a $100,000 top prize from a Money Tree ticket, the Virginia Lottery said in a Jan. 6 news release. “I broke down, and I lost it!” Smith told lottery officials.

A ticket sold in New Jersey won $1 million in Saturday night's Powerball, according to the Powerball website. The ticket matched all five white balls to win the million-dollar prize. The New Jersey Lottery announced Monday that the winning ticket was sold at the ShopRite supermarket on Beaverbrook Road in Lincoln Park (Morris County).
