Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin was pulled in the second period against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night after giving up five goals on 12 shots.

It isn’t often that New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin gets lit up by the opposition, but that was the case on Thursday night against the in-state rival Buffalo Sabres at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan.

Peter Laviolette opted to pull Shesterkin from the game in favor of backup Jonathan Quick with 6:09 left in the second period after Buffalo’s fifth goal of the night.
