With the possibility of winter weather forecast for later this week, TxDOT Brownwood District Crews have started pretreating roadways in the district. Motorists will see  brine spraying trucks across the nine counties of the district—Brown,

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) crews in Waco are mobilizing to begin early brine application on state roads. Crews will be applying brine to Interstate 35, Interstate 14, U.S. and State Highway frontage roads and overpasses on Monday.

TxDOT crews are working around the clock to prevent ice formation on major highways as winter weather potentially approaches Central Texas.

TEXARKANA, Texas - With the chance of wintry weather on the way, the Texas Department of Transportation is taking steps to prepare area roadways.

The National weather service has issued a freeze warning that starts at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday and ends 9:00 a.m. This could be dangerous for drivers.

Roads are being prepared over the next two days in anticipation of icy winter storms across Texas. Meteorologists are now forecasting an increased certainty of a wintry mix between Wednesday and Friday.

The Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department is already in prep and pretreatment mode. Huge amounts of sand are getting loaded up and ready.
