I went to a Home Free concert here on Dec 1, 2022. This is a great old Art Deco style theater. Beautiful decor and superb acoustics. They just don't make them like this anymore. Full review by rhondav641

Attended a concert at the Uptown recently and had a great time. Parking in the area seems to have gotten better recently, due to some neighborhood updating and revitalization. However, to avoid need… Full review by BaggageConveyorBelt

Such great acts in a beautiful venue...but too many negatives! The last two shows were bait and switch on our tickets. 1st time we paid for front row, then the theatre decided to put 3 rows of fold… Full review by MLMRocksTravel
I've been referred to the Uptown as an excellent party/rehearsal venue. My friend was insistent that I do my business with the father(owner?)/daughter(event coordinator). BUT....I've lost whatever junk mail envelope, or post-it, I'd used to record this 'wonder-team's' info upon (I admit - NOT my best judgement call, in hindsight!) Anybody know to whom I was referred? You'll def make my Christmas card list!! (PLUS my eternal gratitude!!!) Any & all ideas are welcome & HUGELY appreciated!!

Larry Sells is the owner...you can find him on linkedin. If you go to the website, you can request info on the theater venue. You may also want to check out The Madrid Theater.

I stayed at the 816 Hotel. It is less than a mile from the Uptown. Across the street is the AC Hotel. These are the two closest to the Uptown. Then theres America's Best Value Inn and the Embassy Suites. Personally, I recommend the 816. Free drink tickets, a BOGO for a Westport Fleamarket Fleaburger-you won't leave hungry and the 816 shares the parking lot with the Fleamarket. As to whether or not the area is safe to walk around. I wasn't worried about it. Crime happens everywhere. Just be smart and don't "look" like a good potential victim and you should be alright. If you are worried about walking around, the 816 has excellent shuttle service.
